Brief History of Space:
 Three projects attempted and rejected
 - for hotel, sport, entertainment facilities and tourism project, this was  rejected by public 
 - for greater public space, entertainment, outdoor recreation, community space, this was rejected by Government bodies after flooding
 - for a restaurant dining, entertainment, retain and commercial space also rejected. 


The buildings on the wharf were air raid shelters during the war and date to the pre 1940's where they were port of Brisbane facilities. They are heritage listed.
